One of my favorite things about living in Venice was wandering down to the skatepark around sunset. Watching others lose themselves in what they're doing would do the same to me, like how I felt as a kid, aimlessly biking around the neighborhood, oblivious to everything.
On this evening, a roller skater approached a skateboarder with a crazy idea: she'd do a handstand while he skated over her. For a split second, everything lined up perfectly, in an almost surreal way.
To me, this photo captures the freedom, creativity, and sense of flow a place like Venice still invites - the rare moments where we let go and become fully immersed in the moment.
